MISSION STATEMENT:

To provide a 24-hour operation to reduce the loss of life and property and to protect the environment. The highest priority is to protect Wilson County residents from all hazards by providing and coordinating resources, expertise, leadership and advocacy through a comprehensive, risk-based emergency preparedness program of mitigiation, preparedness, response and recovery.
Wilson County Emergency Management maintains the Emergency Operations Center located in the Law Enforcement Center at 925 Pierce St, Fredonia Ks. Emergency management is the process of coordinating available resources to deal with emergencies effectively, thereby saving lives, avoiding injury and minimizing economic loss. This protection process involves four phases:

Mitigation --  Acting to reduce the possibility of a disaster occurring or reduce losses from a disaster. Sign up for Emergency email notifications in your area!
